I LOVE birthdays! It is such a fun time to celebrate someone for just being THEM!
My mom always went above and beyond for our birthday parties growing up. I have VHS tape recordings of one of my very early birthdays at Chuck E Cheese. In grade school we had a tea complete with dress up clothes and a limo ride from my house to my nana's house (under a mile away) for finger sandwiches and tea (juice in tea cups- ha ha ha).
So I knew that as long as I was able, I wanted to make birthdays just as special for Sophia! Her first birthday actually fell on Easter Sunday so we had an Easter themed party. She could have cared less, but it was special to me and all who came!
This year I figured would be the last year that I could choose the theme of her party without any input from her. Insert a FIESTA theme! Sophia loves rice and beans, so that is initially where the idea originated.
We rented out our neighborhood clubhouse and with the help of my mother and sister in law- we decorated every last corner! I also had the help of some absolutely amazing small shops when it came to decor and fiesta themed attire!
We had over 38 people and around 14 kids 4 and under- yep it definitely was a FIESTA! It was loud, colorful, and full of joy- just what a birthday party is supposed to be. We colored with chalk on the tennis courts, we played with the parachute (remember those from elementary school?) we had a pull-string piñata, a photo booth, and of corse COOKIES AND CUPCAKES! (Sangria and Corona for the adults because #14kids) Ha ha ha
We are so blessed to have such a sweet and sassy little girl that we call ours, and grateful for friends and family who love her as much as we do.
Happy 2nd Birthday Sophia- mucho besos xoxoxo
